'Damn that dog...' you muttered to yourself, hands in pockets as you once again called out for the mutt. This was the second time that he had managed to disappear from yourself, pulling the least right out of your hands to go find a new friend.

'Can't he be less social?' you sighed, as you continued to search. This really wasn't good. The first time he had returned with a pack of new acquaintances but this time there were few dogs around the area that he could have possibly run to and you had to deliver him back to his owner in an hour. This was your first time petsitting for the busy women, and you hoped that you would be able to have a steady business relationship with her caring for her dog.

Of course, that sure as hell wasn't going to happen unless you found the canine.

Picking up a light jog, head looking around without stop, you continued calling. It was as you passed by the playground that you noticed a small sign that seemed to have been placed there just for you to find it and have a small amount of luck for once in that cursed dog-walking day.

Need help? Call *** **** *** and Yatogami will be there in no time!

You squinted at the sign, but realising that it was one of the few options you had left, ignored the possibility of it being a scammer and called up anyway.

"“Hello~! The fast, reliable, and affordable delivery god Yato here! How can I help you?”

Your first impressions were that he really was a scammer. Who would ever answer their phone so cheerfully on a Saturday evening? Most people that you knew would either be drunk, asleep, exhausted or binging anime like a zombie.

"Can you catch dogs?"

"Yep!" he replied, before speaking quietly (seemingly to someone else), "How do you catch dogs?"

You sighed, this was going to take a while.

But suddenly a ravenette appeared in front of you, a blonde by his side who seemed to blend in with the background. Everything did as you just stared at those two blue eyes. They seemed to have an almost ...world hidden in their crisp clean depths.

"Hello! I'm Yato, the delivery god!"

Fishing a picture of the runaway out of your pocket, you struggled to bring yourself back to reality and away from staring at his eyes like a creep, "Can you find me this dog?"

He nodded eagerly, ignoring the small whisper of "Yeah, right" coming from his shorter accomplice. "Stay here and I'll go find him for you!"

You stared at him, confused, but decided to focus on attracting the dog back to you where you were rather than continuously walking with no success. A blister had been rubbed into the back of your heel anyway, and you were in no hurry to make it worse.

Surprisingly, the boy returned in only 5 minutes, making you feel real stupid. A stranger had found the dog you had been searching for, for almost an hour, in just a couple of minutes. The mutt leapt at you, covering your jeans in saliva as the ravenette passed the leash to you.

"Damn you, little brat," you said to the dog trying to sound stern but with affection in your voice, kneeling down to scratch its ears.

Yato would have loved to be able to tell you about how splendid he was and about 'amazing senses' that had brought him to the dog but it seemed that Yukine's disapproving and knowing glare wouldn't let him. Instead he mumbled:

"I had already seen him when I was in the park...." sounding annoyed to have such a boring plot.

You smiled, hugging the boy hard, "Thank you so much!" Both you and he blushed at the contact, turning your heads away from each other.

A large grin filled his face as he said, "That'll be 5 yen,"- proud to have been able to meet someone he liked and get some payment as well. Nodding absentmindedly, you grabbed double the said price, and sprinkled the change into his hands- ignoring the surprised gesture he made upon checking the amount.

"By why extra?" he asked, trying to return the remains back to you as you dodged from his hands.

You bit your lip, grabbing a pen and writing onto your hand- not wanting to say your request out loud- before showing him your words.

He looked at you confused, making you realise that you had been holding your hand in a way that made the letters upside down? Instead, you stammered out, "C-can we meet a-again sometime?"

"Sure!" he laughed, "Just call me and I'll be there!"

It was in a much quieter voice that he whispered, "But since I'll be delivering happiness, I'll have to have a 5 yen payment."
I don't own the Noragami universe.
I only own my ideas and my words.

So, reader, you willing to pay 5 yen for Yato-delievered happiness?

I just decided I need another one XD. And since I'm forever obsessed with Noragami - why not!~ <3 (Yes, I'm choosing your folders with just one story intentionally. I can't afford reading through a folder with 15 stories, but I'd surely do so if I started one! XD)

Hngh~. I just meeeelted :meow: . Nyahaha, you took away my brain~. First, I have to praise your introduction. It's hard to keep them short, especially with this kind of plot, but you kept the lenght JUST right. Also, this situation fits just SO WELL into Noragami - and I love and hate at once how this feels like the start of a wonderful love story! >//< Oh goood I will start dreaming about what may happen....and YOU GOT ME WITH YATO'S EYES aren't they amazin'~.
Also loved the end. How you brought out Yato's normally hidden sass was so good~. Hell, I'd pay 500 yen just to see him every day, I swear!!
I remember very well that you feel less comfortable writing for Noragami, but you did just right!
